2008 Poll: 1 in 5 Americans would support secession in their own state

Here’s something I just recently stumbled across that I didn’t know about.  Zogby did a poll in 2008 of folks all over the country; and they found that not only do many Americans believe that EVERY state has a right to secede, but 1 in 5 of them would support a secession effort in their own state.

Keep in mind that we are not talking about a poll that was done in Texas – this is nationwide.  This is blue states as well as red states.  In addition, this is before Obama took office; before the economy was in an “official” recession; and even before the stimulus handouts began.  Considering that there are so many people fed up with what is going on, I would love to see the same poll run again today.  And more than that, I would love to see a poll that shows the support of secession just in Texas.

My fellow Texans, we are ripe for secession.  We will have the support of the people of Texas.
